Max came to our family in November of 2012 for a "vacation" from his former owners and has been with us ever since!! On February 22, 2016, Max (having already owned our hearts), became ours in name as well, and his AKC Registration was put in our name!!

*Max is fondly known as our "Marshmallow Man".  He is definitely a lover, and quickly becomes the favorite of ALL the ladies, human and canine.  While our Max is most definitely male aggressive and has little to NO patience with any other canines, his one true love IS his human family.  Laid back, mellow, low drive..until he feels the need to defend his humans and home! Max can often be found either somewhere in our daughter's room curled up somewhere by his daughter Roxie, or outside patrolling our fenced in yard, chasing butterflies, or rolling in the grass! With is solid chest, muscular frame, angular snout and proud gait, he makes a very intimidating first impression.  BUT he is all heart and returns any love and affection he is given.  A TRUE Velco-Dobie and a magnificent example of the true heart and devotion this breed has for its family!! Max, at 7-1/2 years old, took AND passed his ATTS Temperament test on July 9th, 2017!!  Max currently has no other AKC or UKC titles , and we are uncertain if at his age and low tolerance of other canines, we will pursue this option with him.  He does, however, descend from strong champion bloodlines and possesses the conformation, temperament, intelligence, loyalty and love you have come to expect from this elegant and magnificent breed!!

On September 2nd, 2018, we lost our Beloved Max due to Bloat.  We made the VERY difficult choice to send him over the Rainbow Bridge rather then take the risks and uncertainties of surgery/recovery or to face the very real possibility that it would occur again.  It is a horrible desease that while not COMMON in our breed, is not unheard of, and at the age of 8-1/2 years old caused to much pain and suffering for Max for us to not let him go.  He will be forevermourned and missed but more importantly forever loved and memories cherished for the increble gift of love he brought us for the five years he was such a HUGE part of our family and our life.
